Serving the local church is a form of worship as believers get to support the work God is doing locally and apply what they are learning from His Word. It is also a great way to get connected in the church and grow in your faith.

At SJCC, every opportunity to serve is of great importance to the Kingdom of God, and we expect our servants to share in this view. How we serve will be impacted by our view of serving.

God gives spiritual gifts to His people for the benefit of the church. These gifts are different than talents and experience cultivated over time. These spiritual gifts can be found in Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, and Ephesians 4:7-16. 

We want to do our best to place people in positions to exercise these gifts, so they can honor God with what He has given them. If you do not know your gift, let us know, and we can help you find out what it is.

I understand that serving is a privilege and an opportunity to glorify God by serving His Church. I agree to:

• Support the mission, vision, and beliefs of the church.


• Conduct myself in a Christlike manner both on and off campus.


• Serve faithfully and communicate with ministry leaders when unavailable.


• Protect the confidentiality and safety of those entrusted to my care.


• Follow all church volunteer policies and procedures.
